North East agency wins Police marketing contract
16-04-2009
North East digital agency Green Media has won the marketing contract for the Northumbria Police website, following a successful tender. The digital campaign, which takes the form of an exciting viral video, web marketing and street level promotion, is aimed at boosting visitor traffic to the new website, which features online crime reporting, helicopter watch and local police news.
Green Media was selected from almost 90 companies that submitted responses to the tender, from both a regional and national level. The Newcastle-based agency, best known nationally for its high level marketing work with premium motor brands such as Bentley and Audi, is looking to bring its results-driven approach to the public sector with a dynamic campaign, with some surprises along the way. The campaign will involve exciting elements all around the region.
“We’re delighted to secure such a prestigious contract and we know that our commercial expertise will energise the profile of the new Northumbria Police website,” said Scott Horner, Green Media Director. “We’re bringing a host of new ideas to the table, along with a surprise element that you’ll be seeing a lot of around the region very shortly.”
“We chose Green Media on the back of their vast experience in online marketing, and most notably the success that they’ve achieved for their clients,” said Marie Grieve, Northumbria Police Marketing Manager. “In the public sector we’re absolutely accountable in getting the very best value out of our budgets, that’s why we’ve chosen to work with a local agency that has continually achieved outstanding results for its commercial clients.”
Green Media’s suite of online services includes web design and build, search engine optimisation, email marketing, pay per click marketing and other digital business solutions, and the agency has been operating since 2000.

Beamish goes wild with new attractions
28-10-2008
Two new visitor attractions at the Beamish Hall Country House Hotel have got off to a great start in 2008, with the help of a local digital agency. The Beamish Wild Ropes Activity Centre and Birds of Prey Conservation Centre were opened this summer in the grounds of the popular County Durham hotel, and have proved to be an instant hit with the North East’s thrill seekers.
Newcastle-based digital agency Greenmedia created two websites for the new attractions, along with a brand identity for the company, showcasing the best of the Beamish Wild experience. The striking websites have helped to raise awareness of the centres among internet users looking for fun days out and corporate teambuilding events.
The Ropes Activity Centre consists of a state-of-the-art treetop ropes course that ends with an exhilarating 50ft powerfan descent, while the Birds of Prey Conservation Centre features a selection of the UK’s rarest and most beautiful birds, in an industry-leading aviary.
“Beamish Wild is an excellent addition to the region’s visitor attractions, and we were delighted to get the opportunity to design and create the web project,” said Greenmedia’s Scott Horner. “We think that the results are suitably exciting, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the two centres go from strength to strength in the coming months.”
"Greenmedia's imaginative designs for our two Beamish Wild websites captured exactly what we were aiming for with the projects,” said Beamish Wild’s Ropes Activity Manager Alex Tocu. “The websites were produced within tight timescales, and we've been very happy with both the performance and the response from the public."

Newcastle agency drives new Aston Martin sales
17-10-2008
A high-end car retailer is defying the credit crunch, thanks to the online marketing services of a North East digital agency. The Cambridge-based Lancaster Aston Martin dealership teamed up with Newcastle’s Green Media for an email marketing campaign – and achieved over £300,000 in sales from a single e-flyer, as well as an upsurge in interest in the prestigious sports cars.
“The results of the work that Green Media has carried out to date have been fantastic. We have seen numerous Aston Martin sales coming as a direct result of the mailout campaigns, and the effects have been almost immediate,” said Andy Matthews, Dealer Principle at Lancaster Cambridge Aston Martin.
“It’s great to see our work delivering results with a brand as prestigious as Aston Martin,” said Paul Lloyd-Harris at Green Media. “We know that our email marketing service creates a real buzz, but this is definitely a major result in today’s tough automotive market.”
Green Media’s email marketing system has been developed in-house since the agency began back in 2000, and was recently revamped to offer clients the very latest cutting-edge services. The Newcastle agency’s service encompasses creative design through to broadcast strategies and results-driven performance – as Lancaster Cambridge Aston Martin found out.
“We now firmly consider Green Media’s email marketing service to be among our most effective and economic marketing sources, and we’re looking forward to continuing the success with future promotions,” added Andy Matthews.
