Online Marketing ‘07

Friday, June 29th, 2007

At Greenmedia we’re constantly on the lookout for the latest developments in the industry, so we can give our clients the very best digital services. With that in mind, we attended the Online Marketing ‘07 event at the Business Design Centre in London this week to see what the leading figures in the sector were currently proposing. Visiting the Google University keynote, along with several discussions and workshops on search engine optimisation and web marketing, gave us a clear picture of the pressing issues in those areas.

“Listening to the keynote presentations at the show vindicated many of the SEO and online marketing techniques that we have been employing down the years, and served to confirm some of the newer ideas that we had uncovered recently,” said Jed Macewan, Greenmedia Director. “In combining this already effective approach with some of the emerging ideas that were discussed, we’re supremely confident that we can continue to offer a leading edge service across the board.”

Protocol Education goes live

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

We’re happy to announce the launch of the new Protocol Education website which went live this month. The site features a handy job search facility for the latest teaching vacancies across a number of locations in the UK and around the globe, and all of the content on the site is managed through a Greenmedia-developed CMS. The website is also backed by a targeted pay-per-click campaign that covers Protocol’s target markets of the UK, Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand.

Google sheds more light on SEO

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Google responded to calls for more clarity on their quality guidelines this month by updating their explanations for web developers. While the guidelines themselves have stayed the same, this was a welcome move from Google in shedding light on what has become a recurrent thorny subject in the industry. Despite the many individual dos and don’ts of SEO, the basic premise of search engine success is a simple constant – build your website for real users, not search engines. One of the main issues in fulfilling this, if not the main issue, is content – more specifically, relevant content.

Greenmedia has always produced websites with the user experience in mind. We believe that if a site is difficult to use or presents any problems at all for those accessing it then it isn’t doing its job. As well as our all-encompassing SEO work, our services include content management systems (CMS) to help you keep your website fresh and up-to-date, and bespoke copywriting that is researched and created to appeal directly to your target audience. Both of these are expressly designed to boost your SEO performance in an organic way, focusing on keeping things relevant for users.

G2IS hits the SEO heights

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Cashless payment, the hi-tech smartcard retail solution for businesses and education institutions, is a super-competitive market with an equally ferocious SEO environment to match.

When G2IS came to Greenmedia for SEO on this topic earlier in the year, we assessed the website from the ground up. The cashless payment section had a good level of content, but lacked a consistent theme and relevant keywords were conspicuous by their absence. The website also looked great, but the coding left room for improvement. A comprehensive overhaul was needed for the site to start competing on key searches, so we made the necessary adjustments and waited for the work to take effect. Following the requisite period of spidering and indexing of the website the results are now in, with G2IS coming at the top of the pile for “cashless payment” on Google.com. In short, this makes G2IS the #1 ranking website in the entire industry, on the most competitive keyword - worldwide.

Telephone tracking

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

At Greenmedia we know that one of the key elements of digital marketing is using the latest technologies and service offerings. With this in mind, we were delighted to begin using a new cutting-edge telephone lead tracking system this month, to help our clients trace the success of their advertising campaigns. Using the system, any calls made as a result of an ad are logged the same way as click-throughs, giving a clear breakdown of the campaign’s overall effectiveness. The system neatly overcomes the problem of phone calls being difficult to track, an issue that previously had the unfortunate potential to skew the genuine results of online marketing. Applying the telephone system to Direct Ford’s well-established Google Adwords campaign, we were able to follow the number of calls made as a result of click-throughs and gain a complete picture of how successful the ads had been in generating real contacts. This unprecedented level of analysis also gives us a clear platform to refine and improve the campaign ongoing, making it the ideal application to achieve immediate results today, and even better results tomorrow.

Google Adwords Qualified Status

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

We recently put our years of expertise and success in the field of Google Adwords to the test, and can now claim official ‘Adwords Qualified Professional’ status. This means that when you choose Greenmedia to manage and run your adwords campaign, you know that you’re in safe hands – officially! We’ve used Google Adwords to help our clients with a whole range of search engine marketing (SEM) targets over the years, from short notice promotions with quick-fire one-day campaigns, to larger, long-term advertising that runs for fifty weeks of the year. This experience means that we have seen all the trends, tricks and traits of the Google Adwords system, giving us the ability use it to its maximum potential and get the best results for our clients, whatever their goals. Adwords is a powerful tool that has the advantage of immediate impact, something that every online marketer can benefit from.

Pushing email marketing further

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

We went live with our new email marketing system this month, which has already shown its worth with some fantastic mailing results. We took a simple approach to development – find out what our clients want from email marketing, and push it further. Greenmedia has provided email marketing for hundreds of companies since 2001, and we’ve always moved to keep ahead of the game by offering that extra level of service that sets us apart and makes companies return time after time. By creating the system in-house we ensured that we got exactly what we needed, and avoided the off-the-shelf identikit solution that so many other agencies opt for. We know we’ve created a system that will work harder for us, and more importantly, our clients.

Lexus email marketing

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

A recent example of how effective our email marketing is came in the form of a hugely successful mailout for Lexus Newcastle this month. The dealership was looking to promote its RX350 models, of which it had two pre-registered examples for sale. The aim of the campaign was clear – achieve the sales of the two models. We designed a clean and classy email flyer based on the Lexus brand’s impeccable and understated style, with copy and call-to-action tailored to encourage immediate contact. Drawing on our email marketing experience with marques such as Audi, Ford and Seat, we timed the mailout to be broadcast mid-morning on a Friday, when we know most people are at their most receptive to retail offers. Our approach proved well-founded, as both of the cars were sold within hours of the flyer going out, and an order was placed for a third model later in the day. Using our new bespoke mailing system, our client was able to track the performance of the email flyer from the second it started hitting recipient’s inboxes, right through to the sale of the models. The nature of the motor industry - with its high value sales – means that email marketing can achieve some genuinely phenomenal ROI figures. To get such an effective impact for a relatively low cost makes email marketing a shrewd choice for companies of all kinds looking for a strategically-placed marketing spend.

New possibilities…

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

We continued our ongoing work with Northeast Audi throughout March and April, with a series of typically striking email flyers for various promotions at their network of dealerships. Another Greenmedia development for Northeast Audi this month is a custom-built client email system, which is currently being put through its paces in testing. We’re excited by the possibilities this creates, and are looking forward to its imminent live launch.
